The Kodiak 4-H horseback riding program has been an important youth activities for many years. In this program kids learn about horses, and as they learn about horses they learn about life. Taking care of a horse teaches the kids about being reponsible. Horses have to be feed twice a day, they have to have water, and a myriad of other tasks. This teaches the kids that there is more to life than just themselves.

The Kodiak 4-H horsebackstarts in June and runs through Labor Day. The Kodiak 4-H club uses the Alaska State Horse Record Book. It is a great resource for the kids in the horse program.
