Kodiak 4H smallbore rifle shooting takes place in the fall/winter months of September through March.. We shoot every Wensday night from 7:00 PM until about 9:00PM. All of our practices take place at the Kodiak Island Sportsmen's Associaiton (KISA) indoor rifle range.    
  For rifles the club has use of the KISA rifles. KISA has a wide variety of .22 rifles ranging from small rifles such as the "Chipmunk" to large target rifles such as Anchultz rifles.    

This course teaches the kids several important things to the kids.

  • First and formost is safety
  • We also teach the kids about the different types of rifles. We discuss the parts of a rifle and the different sights that are found on rifles.
  • We teach the kids how to shoot from the standing, kneeling, and prone positions.
   
  These classes take place in the winter months at the Kodiak Island Sportsman's Association indoor range located in Monaska Bay. They are held from 7:00 to 9:00 on Wensday nights.
